It's a little sad now, seeing how much she's contradicted the message of this song. I'm not talking about her personal struggles; it's hard to say how much of that was caused by fame. I'm talking about the unfortunate (and apparently inevitable) tendency for famous young women to continually try changing who they are and what they look even while telling others how important it is to be yourself and love who you are.
Don't get me wrong, she's still beautiful. But she was beautiful the whole time. I wish she and so many others would believe what they're saying (or singing, in the case of this song). I hate to see them change their appearance for no reason other than insecurity, and the idea that she or anyone else should do it just because it makes them feel good is a tragedy. Once they start, they rarely stop. I just hope she leaves well enough alone before she ends up like Michael Jackson or Elizabeth Taylor.
Of course, I haven't even touched on the kind of music she sings or the kind of image she chooses to convey. That's a whole other story.

Truly symbolic full circle moment- she no longer affiliates with joe specifically and this song is so bittersweet given how much she has had to go through under the hands of lalaland hollywood.
