As someone who didn't grow up in church and not on hymns, I don't see anything wrong with the lights on stages as long as people are being saved. People often try to put requirements on others' salvation when the only thing that matters is people being saved for God's kingdom.

I remember those days, as a teenager, we literally did praise God in a Church basement, I remember praising him in a Church basement in America, I remember praising God with my friends and youth group in the villages of Honduras, thatch roofed huts - lol the heat and the humidity and sweating. I remember those day and now I see them as not just fond memories but, as something foundational to my faith. There is something that seems special, and sacred, continuing that praise and worship of previous generations of the saints of the Kingdom!
